Network Functions

All the UniKey dongles have network function. The network functions enable UniKey Software Protection System work on Internet/Intranet. It is easy to implement floating license model with help of UniKey network functions.

To utilize the UniKey network function, a NetUniKey Server should be installed. It works as the license server, which talks with all the remote clients.

Working as a service

NetUniKey Server can work as both a service or an application, it is good for the server which needs not logon.

Black/White List

NetUniKey Server supports black and white list function, which give end-user more flexibility on the protection scheme. If such function is enabled, only the remote clients in the white list can access the dongle remotely or the remote clients in the black list is refused.

Floating License

NetUniKey support float license, which means, you can set how remote client to find dongle. For example, you can set client find local dongle first, if there is no dongle locally, it will try to find dongle on the network. Or you can set it opposite, i.e. find network dongle first, then find locally. To find a dongle on the network, you can set the searching method, you can use the IP in the configuration file, or broadcast. So for the end-user point of view, the license in the dongle is floating, either locally or on the network.

Intelligent Searching

NetUniKey is intelligent, it can work without any configuration, and try to find a dongle by any means.

Easy Management

The GUI of NetUniKey Server provides an easy means to change the server setting. Administrator can see the remote client connecting to the NetUniKey Server from GUI, and remove the unwanted clients. All the configuration can be done by simply clicking mouse.

Zero-configuration

Both NetUniKey Server and client is intelligent, no configuration work need to be done by default. NetUniKey function will try to understand the network environment and make an optimal scheme.

Encrypted Communication

All the communication among NetUniKey Server and clients are encrypted by 128-bit AES, and digested. The encryption key varies for each communication.
