Recently, our UniMate product line has begun testing for FIPS 140-2 certification and is expected to be certified later this year. The Federal Information Protection Standard (FIPS) is an American government security standard used to accredit cryptographic modules. Products in FIPS 140-2 testing program are subjected to multiple security related tests (both hardware and software) by the Cryptographic Module Testing Laboratories to ensure the highest security is met in relation to sensitive information.
UniMate's product line is being tested for Level 2 certification, which encompasses of strict physical mechanisms to prevent tampering and high level software security (including encryption algorithms). This allows UniMate products to be used safely within the government and other regulated industries (e.g. health-care or financial industries) that work with sensitive information/data.
